Becky Barse-Nye, Project 3- John McKernon

 The Guidelines

For Project 3, the Lighting Tech 2 students were responsible for researching a Lighting Technologist who has greatly contributed to the lighting world. I thought of none other than John McKernon (pictured below).

Why John?

I knew I wanted to research John Mckernon because he founded the program Lightwright. Lightwright is the program we use here at the State University of New York at Fredonia to create most of our lighting paperwork. This program has been so helpful to myself and my peers, so I wanted to find out the history of the program and it's creator.

My Findings

I found out a lot more about the program than I expected and it was all on the website! The website laid out the timeline of the program starting all the way back in 1982. First released as ALD, the program wouldn't have the name we know and love until 1988, when Lightwright 1 was released. Over the years, John worked with multiple people to create the program Lightwright 6, the most current version.
My paper is linked below to check out the specific details!
